Getting started
What is Tink?
Tink is a date-night planner for two people who already know each other. You both swipe yes or no on food and activity ideas at the same time, and Tink gives you three date plans you both agreed on: a real venue for the activity and one for dinner, each with a booking link. It isn’t a dating app and never introduces you to anyone.
Do we both need the app?
Yes. Each person uses Tink on their own phone. Hold your phones together to start a session, or send your date an invite link if you’re not in the same place.
Do I need an account?
Sign in with Apple or Google in one tap — no password and no profile. You can also continue without an account. Signing in is what brings your name and saved partners back if you get a new phone or reinstall. Without an account, a reinstall starts fresh.
Where does Tink work?
Tink finds venues in Australia and the United States. Turn on location so Tink can find places near you, or type in a suburb or area instead.
Planning a date
Our phones won’t connect when we hold them together
Check that Bluetooth is on and that Tink is allowed to use it in your phone’s settings, then hold the phones close together. If it still won’t connect, send an invite link instead — it works the same way, no Bluetooth needed.
My date didn’t get my invite
Make sure notifications are turned on for Tink in your date’s phone settings. Invites expire when the session they’re for closes, so if a while has passed, start a new session and invite again, or send a link.
“This account is already in the date on another phone”
This appears when two phones are signed in to the same Apple or Google account — a shared family Apple ID, for example. Tink sees one person, so only one of those phones can be in a date at a time. If you and your partner share an account, sign one phone in with a different Apple or Google account.
We didn’t get many results, or they’re far away
Tink only suggests venues that are open on the day and at the time you choose, in the area you picked, for the things you both said yes to. Try exploring the whole city instead of staying nearby, a different day or time, or saying yes to a few more ideas.
We keep seeing the same places
Tink remembers the places it has shown you on your phone and favours fresh ones next time. If a place you’ve seen comes up again, it’s usually because it’s still the best match for what you both picked.
Bookings
How do I book?
Tap the booking link on a plan. You book directly with the venue or a booking website, on their terms. Tink doesn’t take payments.
Can Tink change, cancel or refund my booking?
No. Because you book directly with the venue or booking website, only they can change or cancel a booking or issue a refund. Contact them using the details in your booking confirmation. See section 6.3 of our Terms.
Is Tink free?
Yes. If you book through one of our links we sometimes earn a small commission. That’s how Tink makes money.
Your account and data
How do I delete my data?
Open Tink, go to Settings, and tap Delete my account & data. It takes about ten seconds. If you’ve already uninstalled the app, our deletion page explains what to do and exactly what gets erased.
What does Tink collect?
Our Privacy Policy lists everything we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
Safety
Nobody can contact you on Tink unless you let them in. You can report a partner from the chat in any session and block them from inviting you again, and a person reviews every report. Read more on our Safety page, or email concerns@tinkdate.com.
If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services (000 in Australia, 911 in the United States).
Contact us
Email support@tinkdate.com. To help us sort it out quickly, tell us your phone model and what you were doing when the problem happened. A screenshot helps too.
