This Privacy Policy explains how BT Vickers App Development Pty Ltd (ABN 28 699 645 184) (we, us or our) collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information. It applies to our mobile application available on iOS and Android (the App) and any website we operate (together, our Services).
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in an open and transparent way. We manage personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information when you use our Services. Where consent is required for a particular collection, use or disclosure, we will ask for it separately. You can choose not to provide optional information, although some App features may then be unavailable.

This Privacy Policy is governed by Australian law and describes our practices under the Privacy Act. Users in the United States should be aware that additional privacy laws may apply to them, and we recommend seeking your own advice about your rights under those laws. We may provide further United States specific disclosures separately where required.
Personal Information We Collect
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. The types of personal information we may collect include:
- Account information, consisting primarily of your name and the account identifier and limited profile information made available by Apple or Google when you use that service to sign in. We do not receive or store the password for your Apple or Google account.
- Saved partner information, including the Tink ID of a person you have previously planned with, the nickname you choose for that person, and information needed to manage invitations or blocking preferences.
- Notification information, including an Apple or Google device push-notification token and your notification preferences, where notifications are enabled.
- Website and waitlist information, including your email address and details about when you joined our launch waitlist.
- Usage information, such as the area or venues you were viewing, the venues you were matched with, the activities and restaurants you filtered for, and whether you proceeded to make a booking.
- Location information, if you choose to enable device location so we can display Venues in your area. If you do not enable location, we collect the suburb or area you manually input instead. You can withdraw device location permission at any time through your device settings.
- Communications and reports, consisting of messages you exchange with your connected partner account to the extent they are transmitted or stored through the App, and information you provide when you contact us or use the reporting mechanism. Chat is not available for communications with Venues or unconnected users.
- Technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version and general analytics data about how you interact with our Services.
We do not generally collect sensitive information (such as health information or information about your racial or ethnic origin). If we ever need to collect sensitive information, we will only do so with your consent or where otherwise permitted by law.
How We Collect Personal Information
We collect personal information in a number of ways, including:
- Directly from you, when you create or sign in to an account, input your suburb or preferences, save a previous planning partner, join our website waitlist, use the chat feature, or contact us.
- Automatically, as you use the App, including through app analytics tools and, where you enable it, device location services.
- From your device and Apple or Google push-notification services when notifications are enabled, including the token needed to route notifications to your device.
- From third parties, such as Apple or Google, when you use their account to sign in to the App.
Where it is lawful and practicable to do so, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym. However, we may be unable to provide certain features of our Services if we cannot identify you.
How We Use Personal Information
We use your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected and related purposes you would reasonably expect, including to:

- manage the website launch waitlist and email waitlist members about the launch of the App;
- personalise your experience based on your location or the suburb and preferences you provide;

We may also use de-identified or aggregated information, which does not identify you, for analytics, reporting and to improve our Services.
Disclosure of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information or provide the personal information we collect through the App to Venues or affiliate partners. We may permit the following recipients to handle personal information only where necessary to operate the Services, comply with law or act on your instructions:
- service providers who help us operate our Services, such as hosting, analytics, IT and support providers, who are only permitted to use it for the purposes for which we engage them;
- Apple, Google and their related service providers, where necessary to deliver push notifications to your device. Those providers handle information under their own privacy policies;
- Apple or Google, where necessary to support the sign-in method you choose. Those providers handle information under their own privacy policies;
- your connected partner account, to the extent you choose to communicate with that account through the chat feature;
- our professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where reasonably required; and
- government, regulatory or law enforcement bodies, where required or authorised by law.
We may also disclose or transfer personal information in connection with an actual or proposed sale, merger, restructuring, financing or transfer of all or part of our business or assets. We will only do so where permitted by law and will take reasonable steps to protect the information, including by limiting or de-identifying information disclosed during due diligence where appropriate.
We do not otherwise disclose your personal information externally. If you follow a tracked affiliate link, the affiliate partner or Venue may separately collect technical information about the referral and any information you provide on its website. That collection occurs outside the App and is governed by the third party's privacy policy.
Waitlist and Electronic Communications
If you join our website waitlist, we will use your email address to manage the waitlist and notify you when the App launches. We will not use the waitlist for unrelated marketing unless you separately consent.
Our launch emails will identify us and provide a way to unsubscribe where required. We intend to delete or de-identify the waitlist after the App launches and the launch communications and related administration are complete, unless we are required by law to retain particular information.
Cookies, Analytics and Tracking
We use app analytics tools to understand how our Services are used and to improve them. These tools may collect technical and usage information about your device and interactions with the App.
The App contains affiliate tracked links supplied by affiliate partners. If you follow one of those links, the affiliate partner or Venue may record that the visit or booking originated from the App. The third party carries out that tracking on its systems under its own privacy policy; we do not provide it with the personal information or usage data we collect through the App. Where we operate a website, it may use cookies or similar technologies, which you can usually control through your browser settings.
Overseas Disclosure
Some of our service providers, including hosting and analytics providers, may store or process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where those providers operate. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs. By using our Services, you consent to your personal information being disclosed to and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your personal information.
We will retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required by law, after which we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Push-notification tokens are retained only while they remain associated with an active device or account and are needed to provide notifications. Waitlist email addresses will be deleted or de-identified after the launch communications and related administration are complete, unless retention is required by law.
Accessing, Correcting and Deleting Your Information
You may request access to or correction of your personal information, subject to exceptions permitted by law. You can also delete your account and associated data through the App. When you do so, we will delete the personal information and usage data we have collected about you, subject only to any information we are required by law to retain or need temporarily to complete the deletion process, investigate fraud or misuse, resolve a dispute or respond to a complaint. You can contact us using the details below if you need help with access, correction or deletion.
We will respond to your request within a reasonable period. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing, except where it would be unreasonable to do so.
Complaints
If you have a concern or complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us using the details below. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it and respond within a reasonable time. Reports about prohibited chat content, account misuse or safety concerns can also be made through the reporting mechanism in the App.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
